Tiziana D'Alfonso
Tiziana is Assistant Professor in Management Engineering at Sapienza Università di Roma, Department of Computer Control and Management Engineering Antonio Ruberti. She is a member of the Italian Association in Management Engineering (AiIG), International Transport Economic Association (ITEA) and Air Transport Research Society (ATRS). She collaborates with ICCSAI – International Center for Competitive Studies in the Aviation Industry and the Center for Transportation Studies of the University of British Columbia. She is Associate Fellow of the University of Manitoba Transport Institute and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Master in Management of Local Public Transport at Sapienza Università di Roma.
She has a Master Degree in Management Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma and a PhD in Economics and Management of Technology from Università degli Studi di Bergamo. She visited the CTS-Center for Transportation Studies of University of British Columbia in 2011 as a Ph.D. student, and in 2014 as a Post Doc fellow. Awards include: (i) the TEE–Transatlantic Partnership for Excellence in Engineering Fellowship from the European Commission; (ii) the Stu Clark Distinguished Speaker Fellowship from the Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship of the University of Manitoba. In 2016 she is awarded for the BEST OVERALL PAPER AWARD, “An incentive pricing mechanism for efficient airport slot allocation in Europe” (joint with Avenali, A., Leporelli, C., Matteucci, G., Nastasi, A., Reverberi, P.) within the 2016 conference on Transportation Economics ITEA.
Her research interests are on industrial organization, economics and regulation of network industries, transport economics and policy with a particular focus on air transport, rail transport and local public transport. She has published several papers in relevant international journals. Research results have been presented annually in several national and international conferences.
At Sapienza Università di Roma, she teaches Business Economics (since 2013) and carries on the Lab Course in Management Engineering (since 2012). From 2016, she teaches Economics of Technology and Management, in English.
She has worked mainly as a local unit member, and sometimes as principal investigator, in several research projects funded by grants from firms and institutions such as, among others, European Union, ANAV-National Association for Road Transport and Travelers, ENAC-National Association for Civil Aviation, MIT – Ministry of Transport and Infrastructures and MIUR-Ministry of Research, University and Higher Education.
