DESCRIPTION:Modern science\, medicine and information technologies require 
 effective data processing however\, the commonly used algorithms\, such as
  the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)\, which constitute the basis for data an
 alysis and compression\, remain a bottleneck. The hope for overcoming this
  limitation is seen in quantum solutions. The seminar will be devoted to t
 he introduction to modern photonic quantum technologies and their capabili
 ties\, in particular to the implementations of the Fourier and Kravchuk tr
 ansforms and their applications in information processing.Bio: Magdalena S
 tobińska is a professor of quantum information at the Faculty of Mathemati
 cs\, Informatics and Mechanics\, the University of Warsaw\, and the CEO of
  an innovative startup levelQuantum s.r.l. (Milan\, Italy) (www.levelquant
 um.eu). She is the Head of the Quantum Information Processing Research Gro
 up (www.stobinska-group.eu) and the Coordinator of Marie Skłodowska-Curie 
 Actions\, Innovative Training Network 'AppQInfo' (www.appqinfo-itn.eu). Sh
 e worked at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light as well as t
 he University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany (2007-2011)\, and was a vis
 iting professor at the University of Oxford (2017).
