DESCRIPTION:Il dottor Antonio Pietrabissa\, vincitore della procedura valut
ativa PA a n. 2 posti presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Informatica\, A
utomatica e Gestionale 'A. Ruberti'\, Settore Concorsuale 09/G1\, SSD ING-
 15:00 in Aula A2\, DIAG\, via Ariosto 25.AbstractIn this talk\, I will pre
sent an overview of my research activity in the field of systems and contr
ol methodologies applied to network control problems. Network control is a
well-established and still developing research field aimed at solving con
trol problems in complex systems (e.g.\, communication networks\, energy n
etworks\, biology). The solution of these problems requires the applicatio
n of methodologies coming from different fields\, such as control theory\,
  optimization\, graph theory.Among my research activities\, I will present
some results about dynamic bandwidth allocation and congestion control al
gorithms based on internal model control\, connection admission control an
d routing algorithms based on dynamic programming and reinforcement learni
ng\, leader-following algorithms and algorithms for counteracting cyber-at
tacks in grid networks based on robust control theory\, load balancing and
selfish routing problems based on non-cooperative control theory. An overv
iew of on-going research activities and future developments will conclude
the talk. BiosketchAntonio Pietrabissa is Assistant Professor at the Depar
tment of Computer\, Control\, and Management Engineering “Antonio Ruberti”
(DIAG) of the University of Rome “La Sapienza\,” where he received his de
gree in Electronics Engineering and his Ph.D. degree in Systems Engineerin
 g in 2000 and 2004\, respectively\, and where\, since 2010\, he has been t
eaching Automatic Control and Process Automation and\, since 2019\, System
s and Control Methods for Cyberphysical Security. In April 2017\, he recei
ved the 'Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale' (ASN) for Associate Professor
in the scientific sector ING-INF/04-Automatica.His main research focus is
on the application of systems and control theory methodologies to the ana
lysis and control of networks\, with specific interest to the design of re
source management protocols (e.g.\, connection admission control\, congest
ion control\, routing\, and medium access control) for multimedia broadban
 d satellite systems\, wireless networks\, and next-generation heterogeneou
s networks. He is the author of more than 40 journal papers and 70 confere
nce papers and book chapters on these topics.Since 2000\, he has participa
ted in 17 research projects funded by the European Union (EU) (1 as scient
ific coordinator of the EU project\, 5 as scientific coordinator for the r
esearch partner)\, 2 projects funded by the European Space Agency (ESA)\,
2 projects funded by the Italian Space Agency (ASI)\, and 3 national proje
 cts (1 as technical coordinator).
